🔥 Top 3 Picks for Friday
Mets -1.5 (+122) vs A’s
Oakland strikes out a ton and struggles late in games. The Mets bullpen is lights out. Strong run line spot.DBacks Team Total Over 4.5 (-110) vs Brewers
Arizona is crushing righties. Brewers’ road pitching has been rough — this could get loud in the desert.Orioles ML (-130) vs Blue Jays
Sugano’s settling in, and the Jays have been flat on the first pitch all year. Quiet value at home.
Mets at Athletics
Griffin Canning gets the ball for the Mets, while JP Sears goes for Oakland. New York’s pitching has been dominant, holding teams to just 2.67 runs per game, while Sears has quietly kept Oakland competitive. The Mets have struggled offensively, but Oakland’s power vs lefties makes this one worth watching in a homer-friendly park.
• Stat: Mets bullpen has allowed a .116 SLG with 2 strikes — best in MLB.
Braves at Rays
Bryce Elder starts for Atlanta, Taj Bradley for Tampa. Bradley’s strikeout-heavy approach (31.8% K rate) could give Atlanta trouble, though Ozuna’s hot streak has sparked some life. The Braves have yet to win on the road this season, and Tampa’s 5-4 home mark keeps them slight favorites.
• Stat: Braves rank 28th in runs per game (3.09) and 26th in batting average.
Blue Jays at Orioles
Bowden Francis has a 1.45 ERA on the road and leads a Toronto staff that’s been nails away from home. Baltimore counters with Sugano, who tossed 5.1 innings of 1-run ball in his last outing. Toronto leads the league in road pitching efficiency, but their offense has hit just .212 with two strikes over the past two weeks.
• Stat: Orioles are batting .196 over the last 7 days — second-worst in MLB.
Red Sox at White Sox
Sean Newcomb takes on Davis Martin in a battle of teams headed in opposite directions. Boston just snapped a losing streak with an extra-inning win, while the White Sox are on an 8-game skid and dead last in scoring. Martin gave up 7 runs in his last start, and Chicago hasn’t scored more than 3 in 5 of their last 6.
• Stat: White Sox average 2.9 runs per game — 30th in MLB.
Brewers at Diamondbacks
Elvin Rodriguez takes the hill for Milwaukee, facing Eduardo Rodriguez and an Arizona team that’s red-hot at the plate. Arizona leads the NL in OPS vs righties and has scored 5+ in four of their last five games. Milwaukee’s bullpen continues to be a major liability in tight games.
• Stat: Brewers road ERA is 7.92 — worst in MLB.
Cubs at Dodgers
Matthew Boyd faces off with Yoshinobu Yamamoto in a rematch from Tokyo, where the Dodgers got the win. The Cubs are averaging 7.7 runs per game, while the Dodgers are 6-0 at home and feature the NL’s top OPS against righties. This one features two of the hottest lineups in the league.
• Stat: Cubs lead MLB with 49 runs scored with 2 outs.
Tigers at Twins
Reese Olson goes for Detroit, while rookie David Festa debuts for Minnesota. Olson has allowed 2 or fewer runs in two of his first three starts, and Detroit has been finding timely hits. Minnesota is hoping Festa can settle a rotation that’s allowed 6+ runs in 3 of their last 4 games.
• Stat: Zach McKinstry leads Detroit with a .371 AVG — 6th best in MLB.
Royals at Guardians
Kris Bubic enters with a sparkling 0.71 ERA through two starts and has 16 strikeouts in 12.2 IP. Tanner Bibee is looking to recover after getting shelled by the Angels. Cleveland’s bullpen remains elite, but KC is top-3 in OBP against pitchers who throw deep into games.
• Stat: Royals have a .371 OBP vs starters who go 80+ pitches — 1st in MLB.
Astros at Angels
Ronel Blanco (9.45 ERA) has struggled mightily for Houston, while Jack Kochanowicz has held his own in two starts for the Angels. LA’s offense is on a tear behind Trout, Paris, and O’Hoppe, and Houston still hasn’t solved their early-season scoring woes.
• Stat: Angels are scoring 6.3 runs/game in their last 10 — top 5 in MLB.
Pirates at Reds
Bailey Falter has an 8.10 ERA and has been crushed by Cincinnati in the past. He faces Brady Singer, who’s been strong through two starts (2.25 ERA). Both teams are 5-8 and looking to get something going in the division.
• Stat: Reds rank 3rd in WHIP (0.98) and 4th in team ERA (3.15).
Rockies at Padres
German Márquez owns a 10-3 career record vs San Diego, but faces a Padres team averaging nearly 7 runs/game at home. Nick Pivetta takes the mound for San Diego and has been efficient so far. The Rockies have the league’s worst bullpen, and San Diego is undefeated at Petco.
• Stat: Padres relievers have a 1.65 ERA — best in MLB.
Nationals at Marlins
Mitchell Parker (2-0, 0.73 ERA) has been lights out for Washington. Cal Quantrill counters for Miami after five shutout innings in his last outing. The Nats are finding ways to win, while Miami continues to struggle against lefties.
• Stat: Marlins have a .643 OPS vs LHP — worst in NL since 2023.
Phillies at Cardinals
Aaron Nola has struggled early (6.35 ERA), but he’s dominated the Cardinals historically. Andre Pallante faces a Phillies lineup that leads MLB in OBP and has been piling up runs in the late innings.
• Stat: Phillies rank 1st in OBP (.358) and 4th in runs per game (4.91).
Giants at Yankees
Robbie Ray starts for San Francisco, Marcus Stroman for New York. The Giants have the #2 ERA in MLB, but the Yankees lead the league in runs and home runs. Judge and Goldschmidt are both in the top 10 in RBIs.
• Stat: Yankees average 6.83 runs/game — most in MLB.
Rangers at Mariners
Jacob deGrom goes for Texas, while Bryce Miller tries to find answers for Seattle. The Rangers are 9-4 and crushing fastballs, while Miller has allowed 4+ runs in back-to-back starts.
• Stat: Mariners have allowed 20 stolen bases — 3rd most in MLB.
